Procter & Gamble Paper Products – Oxnard

Scope of Work

  • OVERHEAD PIPING:

    • Install fire sprinkler piping per provided phase 1 plans.
    • Install new black steel pipe schedule 10 new supply line that will connect to all existing fire sprinkler risers within the areas of work as shown on provided construction document drawings.
    • Existing underground fire sprinkler supply lines and the connections to the existing fire sprinkler riser within the areas of work will be capped and abandoned-in-place.
    • Hangers and seismic bracing for the new 10″ supply line will be determined by Thomas & beers structural system design shall be in accordance with Procter & gamble fire protection standards, NFPA 13, NFPA 24 and city of OXNARD fire department requirements new overhead piping per provided FPE plans.
    • Obstructions to be moved as needed to use of necessary equipment to complete installation.
    • All piping to be added and/or relocated are to meet local and NFPA 13 2016 standards and the City of Oxnard Fire Department.
    • Work shall include all materials, labor, plan submittal, rough and final inspections.
    • Install fire sprinkler piping per provided phase 2 plans.
    • Install new black steel pipe schedule .188 wall thickness new supply line that will connect to all existing fire sprinkler risers within the areas of work as shown on provided construction document drawings.

    UNDERGROUND PIPING:

    • Mobilize equipment and crew and furnish materials. Coordinate applicable inspections once permits have been procured,
    • provide minor traffic control and trench protection on site but it is assumed areas of excavation will be off limits to through traffic.
    • Provide cones and caution tape around each worksite. Provide speed shoring or step trench back and cover trench with plywood.
    • Remove and replace up to 60 square feet of asphalt. Expose the existing 8-inch PVC fire line in two locations, verify materials required and trench from the point of connection to the building in each location. This estimate assumes that the point of connection within 10 feet of building in each location. It is our understanding that the main line and point of connection may be up to 9 feet deep. Note: Cost associated with groundwater dewatering or caving trench walls shall be handled on a time and material basis if applicable.
    • Construct one (1) 8x8x8” cut in tee connection on the existing PVC main line, construct up to 10LF of 8” c900 DR18 PVC fire lateral and construct one (1) 10” ductile iron ductile iron riser appx. 2-feet out from the building at the northwest corner of building 7
    • Construct one (1) 8” cut in connection the existing PVC mainline approx. 170 LF south of the tee connection, install an elbow to redirect to the corner, construct up to 10LF of 8” c-900 DR18 PVC fire lateral and construct one (1) 10 “ductile iron fire sprinkler riser approx.. 2’ out from Building 7 corner.
    • Thrust block, sand bed and backfill, compact with native soil and asphalt replacement.
    • Install/modify underground piping per provided phase 2 plans.
    • Provide minor traffic control and trench protection on site but it is assumed areas of excavation will be off limits to through traffic.
    • Provide cones and caution tape around each worksite. Provide speed shoring or step trench back and cover trench with plywood.
    • Sawcut, remove, and replace up to 35SF of concrete sidewalk along Building 17.
    • Expose the existing 12-inch PVC fire line in two locations, verify materials required, and trench from the point of connection to the building in each location. This estimate assumes that the point of connection is within 10-feet of the building in each location and that the mainline and point of connection may be up to 9-feet deep.
    • Construct one (1) 12-inch cut-in connection on the existing PVC mainline. Cap remaining 12-inch DIP after cut-in connection location with one (1) 12-inch flanged cap and one (1) concrete thrust block. Use 12-inch 90-degree elbow to redirect line above ground near cut-in, transition to 10-inch DIP, construct one (1) 10-inch ductile iron fire sprinkler riser approx. 2-feet out from the southeast corner of Building 20. Riser will be at least 6″ above grade and will end with temporary flanged valve.
    • Construct one (1) 12-inch cut-in connection on the existing PVC mainline, use 12-inch 90-degree elbow to redirect line above ground near cut-in, transition to 10-inch DIP, and construct one (1) 10-inch DIP fire sprinkler riser outside Building 17. Riser will end with temporary flanged valve
    • Thrust block, sand bed, backfill, and compact with natives. Haul away spoils.
